harkin welcomes iowa ffa leaders to washington

Washington, D.C. – Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today met with two student leaders from Iowa’s Future Farmers of America (FFA).  Harkin spoke with Iowa President Ray Augustine from Rose Hill and Iowa Reporter Brad McNeil from DeWitt.  Augustine and McNeill, both sophomores at Iowa State University, are in Washington to attend the FFA State Presidents Conference.  There are over 12,000 Iowa FFA members from 230 high schools across the state.

“I am proud of the work these young men do for the FFA,” said Harkin. “The organization exemplifies the qualities American farmers should strive for, particularly life-long learning and service.  I am glad that Ray and Brad were able to travel to Washington to participate in this valuable conference.”
